12/17/15 Nonfiction Blog 2

Prompt:  If you could talk to the author, what questions would you ask? Why?
Book: "Franklin Delano Roosevelt"

My book is about Franklin Delano Roosevelt or FDR. One of the three questions I would like to ask him is how did he fell being related to a former president. First I should say that it must be really cool to be related to a president, but I'm wondering if Theodore thought the same way. I'm wondering if he like the attention, or was he always compared to his cousin? I'm just wondering if he actually like to being a Franklin?

Now, my second question is what were his accomplishments? I know that he won a Nobel Peace Prize is very successful, but what else has he accomplished. Has he won other big award that I haven't heard about? It just seem interesting to talk about because he won the Nobel Piece Prize, he can obviously can accomplish much and probably did.

Now my last question I would want to ask him is what other famous landmarks is he known for? I know that he has a national park named after him, but what other landmarks are there that are named after him. Now that I am curious of him since I read the book, I would like to know some famous landmarks of him that I can maybe visit someday. Those are my three questions I would ask Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Nonfiction Blog 11/30/15

My book is called "Franklin Delano Roosevelt". It is an autobiography about the life of our 32nd president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882. Where I'm at in the book is he is in collage. Franklin went to Harvard Collage in September 1900. He is trying joining a lot of clubs, he was able to be an editor in the school paper.I did find out that Franklin cousin Theodore Roosevelt was elected president when Franklin was in collage. Franklin became "famous" for his name and led to him being invited to a lot of dances, dinners and parties.

The most interesting event that I had read about in the book is how he was always able to get his mother on his side. In the book "Franklin learned to agree cheerfully with his mother on most things big and small, but he knew how to get around her, how to have his own way." As you read on the story says that whenever he didn't want to go to church he would fake a headache, and it always worked just like the other tricks he pulled on her. I just thought that was really interesting because I could never get my way with my mom. I just thought that was kind cool.

Something that I have learned from this biography was that Franklin Roosevelt had polio and was disabled. On the second page I read the book says that he has polio and was in a wheelchair. You never really hear a lot of presidents with diseases like polio. I had actually searched up presidents who had diseases or were disabled and he was the only one with polio. I just thought that that was something unforgettable, being a president and having to be in a wheelchair. I never knew that before. I commented on Hazelle's blog, Jack's blog, Marcos's blog
