My book is called "Franklin Delano Roosevelt". It is an autobiography about the life of our 32nd president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882. Where I'm at in the book is he is in collage. Franklin went to Harvard Collage in September 1900. He is trying joining a lot of clubs, he was able to be an editor in the school paper.I did find out that Franklin cousin Theodore Roosevelt was elected president when Franklin was in collage. Franklin became "famous" for his name and led to him being invited to a lot of dances, dinners and parties.
The most interesting event that I had read about in the book is how he was always able to get his mother on his side. In the book "Franklin learned to agree cheerfully with his mother on most things big and small, but he knew how to get around her, how to have his own way." As you read on the story says that whenever he didn't want to go to church he would fake a headache, and it always worked just like the other tricks he pulled on her. I just thought that was really interesting because I could never get my way with my mom. I just thought that was kind cool.
Something that I have learned from this biography was that Franklin Roosevelt had polio and was disabled. On the second page I read the book says that he has polio and was in a wheelchair. You never really hear a lot of presidents with diseases like polio. I had actually searched up presidents who had diseases or were disabled and he was the only one with polio. I just thought that that was something unforgettable, being a president and having to be in a wheelchair. I never knew that before. I commented on Hazelle's blog, Jack's blog, Marcos's blog

ReplyDeleteGreat Job Andrew! You explained very well with the summary. I knew exactly what the book is about. Plus, I never knew that Franklin's cousin is Theodore too! You are not alone Andrew.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, however, I found a few minor errors like misspelling college and not putting a space after a sentence. Besides that, you did awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo Franklin Delano Roosevelt could manipulate his mom...I wish I could do that. The entire post was well-written, except there was a minor typo present: it's college, not collage. Otherwise, it's perfect!
